Point Lobos in Carmel has always been one of my favorite places to visit, hike and photograph. This was painted later in the studio. I like the way it came out.
My outings with " The Thursday Painters," a group of painters from San Luis Obispo County, have been wonderful. I am somewhat too lazy to deal with oil painting materials and find watercolors so much easier to manage. Here are some of them. Let me know what you think.
I didn't like my previous rendition of this scene in Point Lobos, so I reworked it. I like it more than the first.
If you have any opinions on the matter, I would love to hear them.
My name is Ellen Brandin. I was born in Europe and am currently living in Norther California with my husband. I refer to myself as a would-be-artist because I can't quite conceive of myself as a full blown artist, yet. Pursuing art has been my passion for the last few years and as I grow and improve, my passion increases. A blog will help me to stay focused and on track and take myself more seriously. Someday I will feel like a can refer to myself as an "artist." I would love to share my artistic journey with family, fiends and all the people who, I hope, will drop in and let me know how I am doing.
